In Taylor Wimpey we believe that

Taylor Wimpey is committed to being a responsible employer and corporate citizen and consequently we:

• promote a positive culture of health and safety;
• incentivise all management levels;
• support the development of skills and knowledge;
• provide managers with the framework to manage health and safety, through processes, procedures and guidance available via our intranet; and 
• monitor performance and provide specialist advice through our in-house team of safety advisors.

Our health and safety management in the UK is recognised as an exemplar in our sector .

Our Spanish homebuilding business employs a very similar health and safety management system to the UK business system although organised in a way to fulfil the requirements of the local regulation regime. Our Spanish business is certified to the occupational health and safety management standard 18001.

In North America we also have a health and safety management programme based around measurement and challenging targets .

Overall health and safety management performance has showed an improving trend over several years. This has been reflected in a trend towards fewer accidents. Futher details can be found in our annual CSR reports . However, there is no room for complacency as there remain too many accidents each year and our objective is for further improvement.
