Taylor Wimpey has a wide range of stakeholders including our customers, investors, employees, partners/suppliers, neighbours to our developments, local government/planning authorities, industry groups and professional bodies, central government, non-governmental organisations and special interest groups.
We communicate with stakeholders in a variety of ways, examples are described below.
We actively engage with the investment community on CSR issues. Investors receive our Annual Report & Accounts and Corporate Responsibility Report. We have become members of a forum for sustainable homebuilding, NextGeneration, in conjunction with Insight Investment and WWF. We complete an annual return for the Dow Jones Sustainability Index and have been a member of the index since 2003. We engage with various investor research organisations and have been listed in the FTSE4good index since September 2004.
Neighbours to our developments are encouraged to engage with us during the planning and construction of new communities. Depending on the size and complexity of the development this engagement could take the form of an extensive community consultation programme. The local community would be invited to workshops where they are able to express their views on the project and provide input to the planning process. Newsletters, community forums and websites are used to continue the consultation process through to the completion of the development.
Taylor Wimpey actively engages with industry groups, professional bodies and central government. Our professional team members are encouraged to join working groups and committees to promote best practice and to develop new ways of doing things.
