During the course of 2004, anticipating changing market conditions, the company reviewed the commercial property and mixed use sectors. Acknowledging the opportunity of mixed use we took the decision to dispose of our commercial portfolio (predominantly office parks) and to concentrate on residential led mixed use opportunities.
The rationale for this decision was in part to support our core house building business but also in recognition of the integral role mixed use development will play in modern planning.
